Motor protection circuit breakers

The C60LMA circuit breakers are designed to protect motor supply circuits (cables and starters) against short-circuit currents.
As they are equipped only with magnetic trip units, they must be combined with suitable thermal protection.

 

The Compact NS80H-MA circuit breaker: provides high performance protection against short circuits is suitable for isolation as defined by IEC 60947-2 standard (disconnector function). For a complete protection of the motor and its starter, the Compact NS80H-MA must be combined with a relay for overload protection. The starter can be of either direct on-line (reversing or not) or "star-delta" type.

Power and control.

 

The magnetic component of the MCBs protection is dealt with by the electro-magnetic coil. The coil under heavy short circuit conditions creates an electro-magnetic field which causes the plunger (1) to force the contacts apart. In practice, at the maximum breaking capacity the contacts would be forced apart in less than one millisecond. The speed of this operation for Memshield 2 MCBs effectively prevents the contacts from welding.

 

Residual current circuit breakers ensure: the control and isolation of electrical circuits the protection of persons against direct and indirect contacts the protection of installations against insulation faults.

Two circuit breakers offer total discrimination when the corresponding box in the discrimination table is shaded or contains the letter T.
When discrimination is partial for the combination, the corresponding box indicates the maximum value of the fault current for which discrimination is provided. For fault currents above this value, the two circuit breakers trip simultaneously.

 

The switch-disconnectors with I-NA release combine the following functions: control (opening and closing circuits on load) isolation.
